Things to Do in Seattle
Pike Place Market
Overlooking the waterfront of Elliott Bay, Pike Place Market is something of an institution in Seattle – no visit here is complete without a stop at this amazing market. There’s a good reason why this is such a popular tourist destination – it’s absolutely crammed with shops, restaurants, fishmongers and fresh local produce stands. It’s a great place to meet the people selling the produce, as well as a chance to visit one of the oldest public farmers’ markets in America.
Space Needle
Offering a perspective over Seattle like no other, the Space Needle is an amazing feat of architecture. With a revolving restaurant, an observation deck and 520 feet of vistas before you, this building is touristy but a must all the same. While it’s easy to lose the beauty of Seattle when you’re seeing it at ground level, from up here the stunning landscape is impossible to miss.
Golden Gardens Park
Seattle is freckled with countless parks but Golden Gardens is something a little more special. A public garden in the Ballard neighbourhood, this park is a mass of towering timberland and evergreens, edged by marshy beaches. Make the half hour journey to enjoy the walk here – it’s completely worth it.
Cruises
Seattle is a great gateway for cruises, if you want to experience this amazing city in a different way. Journeying from the Rocky Mountains down through the gorgeous coast is an experience you'll never forget, and a wonderful way to see two of the U.S' most spectacular locations.
