Rocky Mountaineer's newest route through the American Rockies
Many of our Canadian Sky customers have enjoyed a Rocky Mountaineer luxury train journey through Western Canada. The award-winning world-renowned train travels by daylight and is the best way to experience some of the most spectacular scenery North America has to offer. They are now offering this experience through the American Rockies through the stunning landscapes of Colorado and Utah.
The new route showcases the best scenery the Southwest United States has to offer. The “Rockies to the Red Rocks” route is a two-day train journey between Denver Colorado and Moab Utah, with an overnight stay in Glenwood Springs Colorado. The train only travels during the day and features over-sized windows so you won’t miss a moment of the ever-changing landscapes.
You can travel West to East or vice versa – the choice is yours. If you start in Denver and travel westbound, you will begin your adventure travelling through stunning canyons such as Red Canyon, Byers and Glenwood Canyon, you’ll journey along the Colorado River and you’ll spot wildlife such as mountain lions, bears and big-horn sheep. After a night in Glenwood Springs, you will re-board the train and cross the Colorado-Utah border with stunning mountain views in the background. Red sandstone landscapes will emerge as you approach Moab in Utah.
Onboard Rocky Mountaineer you will enjoy relaxing as you watch the world go by at “Kodak-speed” – allowing you ample photo opportunities though the extra large windows. During your two-day journey you will enjoy a delicious breakfast and lunch with a selection of wines and beverages, not missing a moment of the scenery as you watch the beautiful landscapes through the custom-designed glass-dome carriage.
