There's even more to New York than Manhattan

From Buffalo and Niagara Falls in the west to Long Island in the south, holidays to New York State include a host of sights and activities, no matter what time of year you choose to visit.

Sitting above Pennsylvania, with Lake Ontario and Niagara Falls to the west and the New England states to the east, touring holidays in New York State can take in all of the key regions including; Finger Lakes, Thousand Islands, Long Island, Hudson Valley, The Catskills Mountains, Adirondacks, Chautauqua/Allegany, Saratoga and Niagara.

Famed for its fishing and hiking, the Catskill region is home to beautiful country and is popular with weekenders from the city. The Finger Lakes offer all year round activities with vineyard tours, golf and hiking in summer and snowboarding and skiing in winter.

Temperatures average around -3°C in winter and 29°C in summer. Winters in New York can be long and cold in some parts of the state. In the majority of winter seasons, a temperature of −25°C or lower can be expected in the northern highlands and −15°C in the southwestern and east-central highlands. The summer climate is cool in the Adirondacks, Catskills and higher elevations of the Southern Plateau. By comparison NYC, Long Island and the Hudson Valley have very warm summers with some periods of high, uncomfortable humidity.

Autumn is a fantastic time to visit New York State, when the famous colours of the trees come out. Combining a wider state visit with a trip to the city itself is great way of easily expanding your holiday from just a city break.

NYC weddings have a charm and style of their very own. It is not the first place you might think of for a wedding abroad and maybe that is why they are becoming so popular. Fantastic facilities and the typical New York style all play an important part in creating a great wedding package.
