A cool town with a focus on culture and family-style dining

Things to do in Hyannis

The focal point of the town is Main Street, famous for its huge variety of top quality restaurants and vibrant shopping centre, which is the home of many family-run businesses. The small town, yet urban atmosphere, offers plenty of beauty salons, clothes shops, jewellery stores and fitness centres to keep most visitors happy.

Hyannis has a F.O.O.D District, which stands for Fabulous Owner Operated Dining, offering tourists and locals a choice of over 40 family-owned and operated restaurants.

Hyannis and Barnstaple have over 100 miles of unspoilt beaches including Craigville beach, which is the largest on the Cape. It is a fabulous place for the family to relax and enjoy some snorkelling or surfing, or if you prefer, just walking and soaking up the breeze!

If you enjoy sport you will fall in love with Hyannis as it has three excellent quality golf courses, and miles of local trails for hiking and biking.

Hyannis also boasts some excellent museums and art galleries including the John F. Kennedy museum on Main Street, offering a multimedia experience on the ‘Cape years’ of President Kennedy.
