As with any major city, shopping is abundant and varied to suit every taste and budget. The Magnificent Mile is, as the name suggests, is a cosmopolitan shopping haven with entertainment and dining thrown in for good measure. Elsewhere in the city, though, you’ll also find independent stores, boutiques and bookstores worthy of a mention.
Comedy and Live Music
Comedy runs through Chicago’s nightlife scene just as prominently as it always has, and is the setting for a number of now-famous comedians when they were launching their careers. Live music can also be found here in swathes, from the many concerts held throughout the city during the summer to local gigs in bars and venues. Check out some of the local blues clubs for a really memorable night – Chicago is well known for its great blues music culture.
Sports
This city is renowned as a fantastic sporting destination, where passionate fans meet with talented athletes for vibrant events you’ll never forget. If you have time during your stay, be sure to check out a game of baseball, hockey or football.
Family-Friendly
There are several outdoor locations in Chicago which are well-worth a visit during your stay, including Chicago’s ‘front yard’, otherwise known as Grant Park, Washington Park and Millennium Park. A fun day out for the whole family is Lincoln Park Zoo or you may want to visit the Adler Planetarium which has a number of hands-on exhibits and activities to enjoy.
