Days 1-8 Orlando
Orlando is described as the ‘Theme Park Capital of the World’, and it’s not difficult to see why! From the world-famous attractions of the Walt Disney World Resort and the spectacular thrill rides found at Universal Orlando Resort, to the newest attractions of Legoland Florida and Peppa Pig Theme Park – there is an experience for everyone in Orlando.
Universal Orlando Resort How do you choose between the iconic Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure theme parks? That’s easy – don’t! Universal Studios offers exhilarating themed rides such as TRANSFORMERS: The Ride 3-D, Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket and the truly immersive experience of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter with the Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts thrill ride, amongst so many others.
Not to be outdone, Islands of Adventure offers two new attractions to its long list of exhilarating experiences. The Jurassic World VelociCoaster is the ultimate ride for the thrill seekers amongst us, and the recently added Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure will have you flying through the grounds of Hogwarts and beyond.
Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure are connected by Universal’s CityWalk, which offers a wealth of dining and shopping experiences, so you can easily manoeuvre between both parks at your leisure - no transport necessary! (Unless you want to take the Hogwarts Express between each park - grab a park-to-park ticket so you don’t miss out on this spell-binding experience!)
One of the best ways to spend the Florida sunshine is to have fun in the sun in Orlando’s newest water theme park, Universal's Volcano Bay! Plunge down Krakatau Aqua Coaster, grab a group of friends for the Puihi of the Maku Puihi Round Raft Rides or get swept away in the gentle current of the Kopiko Wai Winding River, there are so many choices to suit every level of enjoyment.

Days 8-11 Clearwater
One of the area’s main attractions is the Beach Walk. This seafront promenade boasts an abundance of restaurants and shops towards the southern part of the stretch of coast. It also provides a wide and well-lit walkway for pedestrians, allowing them to enjoy the idyllic seafront views and the local eateries and retailers at the same time.
Head far enough along the Beach Walk and you’ll come to the famous Pier 60. Every evening, Pier 60 hosts a free family festival, offering craft stalls, street performers and music to celebrate the setting of the sun. There’s plenty more for the family too, including the chance to visit the Clearwater Marine Aquarium to meet Winter, star of the 2011 movie Dolphin Tale, and a whole host of other marine creatures.
One of the biggest events on the regional calendar is the annual Clearwater Jazz Holiday – an international celebration of Jazz music spread over four days and nights in October. A great excuse to listen to some fabulous music while viewing stunning sunsets. The beach is also home to a number of water activities, including swimming, sailing, parasailing, boat tours, and jet skiing, to name but a few!
With a number of bars, cafes and restaurants available, those with a love of all things food and drink-related will not be disappointed. From cocktail bars to Italian restaurants, there’s something to be found for everyone here. And if you still need a theme park fix, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is a 50 minute drive away!
