St. Pete Beach & Clearwater holidays - Colourful, lively and fun
With an average of 361 days of sunshine, a plethora of fun activities, a vibrant arts and culture scene and peaceful, stunning beaches, it's no wonder St. Pete Beach and Clearwater are two of the most popular American beach destinations for locals and travellers alike.
The place to be if you're looking for fun in the sun
Situated on the Florida coast of the Gulf of Mexico, St Pete/Clearwater is one of Florida’s best-loved beach destinations, boasting idyllic views, lovely beachside attractions, a quiet atmosphere, and local charm. With an average of 361 days of sunshine, this is the ideal American beach getaway.
One of the area’s main attractions is the Beach Walk. Completed in 2008, this seafront promenade boasts an abundance of restaurants and shops, and a picturesque walkway for holidaymakers to take in the gorgeous seafront views and wander through the charming attractions.
Head far enough along the Beach Walk and you’ll come to the famous Pier 60. Every evening, Pier 60 hosts a free family festival, offering craft stalls, street performers and music to celebrate the setting of the sun. There’s plenty more for the family too, including the chance to visit the Clearwater Marine Aquarium to meet Winter, star of the 2011 film Dolphin Tale, and a whole host of other marine creatures.
The arts scene here is phenomenal too, particularly the world-renowned Salvador Dali Museum – a glass-panelled building host to incredible Surrealist artwork. The Museum of Fine Arts is also fantastic, and there is a plethora of fascinating museums too, including the St. Petersburg Museum of History.
With a number of bars, cafes and restaurants available, those with a love of all things food and drink-related will not be disappointed. From cocktail bars to Italian restaurants, there’s something to be found for everyone here. The beach is also home to a number of water activities, including swimming, sailing, parasailing, boat tours, and jet skiing, to name but a few!

When to Visit St Pete/Clearwater
The most popular time to visit Clearwater Beach is between the beginning of January and the end of March, or from the beginning of September to the end of November. Although visiting the region at this time will be when it is at its busiest, it’s typically when the weather is its driest. If you prefer to holiday at quieter times, consider visiting during the summer months. Although you will certainly feel the heat and humidity at this time of year, planning to stay by the sea should help you cool down at least a little.
