Denver

Welcome to Denver! This vibrant city nestled against the breathtaking Rocky Mountains offers a blend of Old West heritage and modern urban energy. Upon arriving at Denver International Airport, make your way to your hotel independently where you will meet your ATI Tour Director.

Denver - Rocky Mountain National Park - Cheyenne

Begin the day with a short city tour of Denver, known as the "Mile High City" due to its elevation. Marvel at the gold-domed State Capitol, precisely one mile above sea level on its 13th step. Next, venture into Rocky Mountain National Park, a vast area protecting stunning mountain landscapes. The highlight of the day is the exhilarating drive on Trail Ridge Road, the "Highway to the Sky," offering unparalleled views of the region's peaks and crossing the Continental Divide at 12,183 feet. Journey onward to Cheyenne, Wyoming, a city steeped in the spirit of the Old West and renowned as a railroad capital. Don't miss the opportunity to see historic steam engines, including Old Number 4004, one of the eight remaining Big Boys on display in the country.

Cheyenne – Mount Rushmore - Rapid City

Embark on a historical adventure with a visit to Fort Laramie National Historic Site, once a prominent fur trading post and later a significant military post during America's western expansion. Traverse through the majestic beauty of South Dakota's Black Hills and arrive at Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Here, come face to face with the magnificent sculptures of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln, showcasing America's rich heritage.

Rapid City - Bighorn National Forest - Cody

Ascend the Sierra Nevada Mountains to Mammoth Lakes, a picturesque alpine resort town known for its skiing terrain and stunning mountain vistas.

*Winter Routing: The Tioga Pass may be closed due to weather or road conditions, in which case you will overnight in Fresno or Visalia and a visit to Mammoth Lakes will not be possible (winter routing applies to all departures between October and May under normal snow conditions).
