Golden Gate Bridge

A classic icon of San Francisco, this mighty bridge dominates the city skyline. This three-mile long suspension bridge connects the northern tip of San Francisco to Marin County and is a must-see attraction.

Alcatraz

Arguably, one of the world’s most famous prisons, Alcatraz has developed an ominous reputation that has never ceased. Its roster of inmates playing host to come of America’s most wanted criminals, this is an eery destination yet one of San Francisco’s most famous attractions.

Cable Cars

You can’t visit the city and not take a ride on one of these charming cable cars which trundle up and down the winding roads – they personify the fusion of heritage and modernity. They’re also a really great way to get from A to B, so hop on during your stay.

Lombard Street

Made famous in Steve McQueen’s ‘Bullitt’, Lombard Street is an unbelievably winding road – it has actually been dubbed the world’s most crooked street. Along the way, take in the vast Victorian mansions and the picturesque buildings which line the street, beginning at Hyde Street and sprawling down to Leavenworth.

Coit Tower

Situated in the Telegraph Hill neighbourhood of the city, Coit Tower is one of San Francisco's best-known attractions. While it may not be the most aesthetically-pleasing building the city has to offer, the views from this area are outstanding. In addition to inspiring vistas, the murals inside the tower are well worth seeing for yourself.

Union Square

The city's central shopping and theatre district, Union Square is a one-block plaza and one of the most popular locations in San Francisco for visitors. A mecca of boutiques, restaurants and galleries, there's plenty to see and do here. The square is always bustling, from theatre showings to art installations, ensuring that there's something for everyone.
